Mount
Pleasant Discovery Museum is a non-profit 501(c)3 organization in
Mount Pleasant, MI. There are seven members
on the
Board of Directors, mostly made up of mothers in the community.
They
have
recognized
a lack of economical, educational, and safe activities for families
with younger
children. By combining their experience with childcare,
funding of
non-profits, and public service. The Board
of
Directors plans to create a successful children’s museum in
the Mount Pleasant
area in 2011. They have met with other museum founders and
business
professionals
to begin the process of bringing their dream to life. Large
amounts of
public and private funding are needed, as well as the support of
community
members to achieve this goal.
